The founding story

From labeling the tray to understanding it

For the past decade, our team has built medication-safety infrastructure for the operating room — the anesthesia labeling systems from Vigilant that run in many of the largest U.S. health systems. Years of that work kept running into the same wall: the medication record is written by hand, from memory, after the fact — and every safety system downstream inherits its gaps.

Operis Health was founded in 2026 to remove the wall: ambient capture, on-device intelligence, and a record produced by observation — starting in the room where it's hardest and matters most.

Who's who

One company, plainly stated

Operis Health, Inc. is the company building the ambient medication intelligence platform. Vigilant is its sibling company and heritage: the anesthesia syringe-labeling business whose installed base and label formats give Operis a head start no generic AI startup has. Academic research runs through a sponsored NIH STTR partnership with the University of Washington and a funded research collaboration at Carnegie Mellon University. Operis is the commercial entity behind the product described on this site.
